Check out this exhibition by Beci Orpin and Kat Macleod called A Hidden Place.
“The exhibition comprises a collection of large-format solo works from each artist, in addition to a new series of collaborative works in which Kat and Beci took turns working on each piece and observing the results as their styles collided and coalesced.
Themes of hiding and concealment resonate throughout the works; favourite objects and treasures adorn and veil other formal and material elements.
A lucky dip process formed the crux of each artwork, with words pulled from a jar dictating the subject matter.
Beci works in paper-cut collage, gouache, acrylic, colour pencil, pastel, ink and spray paint. Kat works in grey-lead, gouache, watercolour, black ink, hand-sewn thread and sequins.
Please join us April 18 from 6–9pm at Lamington Drive as we open this long-awaited show, offering a rare opportunity to purchase a body of work featuring two of Melbourne’s most beloved illustrators working in the prime of their career”.
